    Reliability has been the important index for DCS (Distributed Control System). A safe and reliable control system can reduce unexpected shutdown during normal processing, improve production quality, lower maintenance cost and reduce investment risk. It shall be considered how to evaluate and improve reliability of DCS during system design. As a subject for science, reliability engineering has developed many analysis technologies, which is helpful to find system status when elements are failure. How to evaluate and analyze DCS reliability by the method of quantitative analysis is mainly introduced in this article.

    PID control is the most widely used control strategy in the industrial process control. Generally, tuning of PID is accomplished by experienced engineer. The whole process is not easy to achieve. It is time and energy consuming due to system difference, delay and nonlinear problems. Therefore, self-tuning of PID parameters is proposed in the paper. In order to optimize the system, the following steps will be done as follows,monitoring the dynamic performance of the industrial process, obtaining the main performance parameters of system, calculating PID parameters automatically according to the empirical formula, inputting PID parameters to PID controller.

    This paper introduced the method of netting for AB PLC controllers, taking water treating devices for an example. The new PLC controller was netted with the original PLC system by OPC services, provided by RSLinx software. The two PLC control system communicated with host computers by EtherNet/IP network. The host computers software was made by RSView32, which was improved. The control system was revamped successfully, without increasing the operator stations and suspending work.

    Column tube reactor is widely used in organic chemical and fine chemical industry, its internal temperature measurement and the spatial distribution of temperature is the key parameter of the reactor. In this paper, the columns of the pipe reactor has more than 20000 tubes, need to measure the internal 72 points temperature in different location. The reaction is exothermic reaction and carried out within the explosion limit, so the temperature measurement and control is very important. In this paper, I introduce a type of thermocouple that used in the column tube reactor, with a diameter of 1.6 mm of K type thermocouple, the thermocouple root purging with nitrogen gas, and at the top of the thermocouple is fixed with the silver welding of stainless steel wire. Installation of thermocouple and catalyst loading at the same time, at the end of the catalyst loading cutting stainless steel wire, using extrusion of catalyst fixed thermocouples. Thermocouple signals transmit to 4-20 mA then sent to DCS, the signals is used to determine the concentration of the reactants, the life of the catalyst and whether the reactor is leak, etc. Through the actual test it meet the technological requirements, has a good effect.

    The compensation of the temperature and pressure is used for calculating density of the ideal gases in the engineering application. It must be take into account the actual gas compression factor. The Lee-Kesler equation to calculate the actual gas compressibility factor is used in the paper, and the calculation method can be realized in the PLC. That is the reason why this method can solved the density compensation of the real gases .
