    Oilfield Internet of Things (IoT) is the application of sensor technology, wireless communication technology in oilfield manufacturing process. Digital oilfield construction through data fusion technology, visualization technology and cloud computing technology can’t be realized without strong support of IoT, these two are interwovenness. Based on current situation of domestic digital oilfield construction, the application of IoT in digital oilfield is reviewed. Real-time data of oilfield manufacturing process and link objects is acquired through utilization of various kinds of sensors. The data is transmitted to control center by wired or wireless modes. After the acquired data through sensors is processed at control center, the detection object is under real time feedback and control according to the analysis result. With further development of oilfield exploration, the digital oilfield will be pushed to the direction of more intelligent development. The IoT has more wide development space.

    To resolve process bottlenecks and the controlling complexity of Spheripol-II polypropylene dual-loop reactor plant, the polymerization dynamic models have been established based on the kinetics of polymerization, material balance and energy balance; a kind of nonlinear advanced control strategy based on state space model is applied, while the controller is robust. An advanced process control system is developed composed by a down-level DCS control layer and an up-level advanced control layer. Depending on the DCS safety logic switching protection method, the control system can be started or stopped flexibly, which ensure the dual-loop reactor control safety. This technology has been successfully applied in the polypropylene unit of domestic enterprise. The results show the fluctuation of the key process parameters such as reaction temperature and density of dual-loop reactor is decreased. Meanwhile, the closed-loop control of product quality index of melt flow rate (MFR) and others is realized, the product quality has been stabilized and improved, and the standard deviation of key process parameters of dual-loop reactor has been decreased more than 25 percent after running advanced process controller.

    The DCS system has been widely used in the chemical enterprises and oil refining enterprises.
